“Science gave man the telegraph, electricity, diagnosis and cure for some diseases. Religion gave individuals spiritual tranquility and moral balance.

Science and religion are two real keys that we use to open the treasures of the universe. Man benefits from science but he lives with religion.”

(William James)

“Every formula that expresses a law of nature is a hymn that praises God.”

(Maria Mitchell)

“Everybody who is involved in science seriously, no matter in which branch, will read this writing on the door of the temple of science: “Believe!” Belief is a quality that a scientist cannot give up.”

(Max Planck)

“Belief in the Creator of the Universe is the strongest and noblest stimulating power of the scientific research.”

(Albert Einstein)

“The light of the conscience is religious sciences. The light of the mind is modern sciences. Reality manifests by the combination of the two. With those two wings, the student flies. When they are separated, the former gives birth to fanaticism and the second to deception and doubt.”

(Badiuzzaman)

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

(Albert Einstein)

“Science and religion do not deny each other; on the contrary, they complement each other. One of them is the light of the mind and the other the heart. Man does not consist of mind only or heart only. On the contrary, he owns both a mind and a heart. Science without religion may satisfy the mind but it definitely darkens the heart. And religion without science illuminates the spirit and the heart but it leaves the mind in the darkness.

Therefore, the advantage and benefit of man does not depend on being occupied with science only as it is today nor being occupied with religion only as it was in the Middle Age. It depends on being occupied with both.”

(Ali Fuad Başgil)

“The scientists who study the beings that Allah created understand His greatness better than other people.”

(Fakhraddin Razi)

Fakat her ikisine birden sahip olmaktır.” (Ali Fuad Başgil)

“Allahu Teâlâ`nın mahlûklarını inceleyen fen adamları, O`nun büyüklüğünü herkesten iyi anlarlar.” (Fahreddin-i Razî)

A poet said;

Don’t seek anything other than contentment because therein is the bliss and the comfort of your body.

Then consider the case of a person who possesses the whole world, can he take with him in his grave more than cotton and a shroud.

semras-plt1

“If you want a friend, Allah is sufficient. Yes, if He is the friend, everything is a friend.

If you want companions, the Qur’an is sufficient. Indeed, for in the imagination one meets with the prophets and angels in it, watches the events in which they were involved and becomes familiar with them.

If you want possessions, contentment is sufficient. Yes, one who is content is frugal; and one who is frugal, finds the blessing of plenty.

If you want an enemy, the soul (nafs) is sufficient. Yes, one who fancies himself is visited with calamities and meets with difficulties. Whereas one who is not fond of himself, finds happiness, and goes to mercy.

If you want advice, death is sufficient. Yes, one who thinks of death is saved from love of this world, and works in earnest for the Hereafter. The one who offers the supplications knows that there is Someone (Allah) Who hears the wishes of his heart, Whose hands can reach all things, Who can bring about each of his desires, Who takes pity on his impotence, and answers his poverty.”

Once upon a time there was a man walking in the jungles where the magnificent nature and long trees. He was enjoying the view of the thick trees covering the sunlight, listening to the birds singing, smelling the odor of the flowers. While he was fascinated by those views. He heard the sound of quick running and Is becoming clearer and nearer, the man turned and saw a great hungry lion coming fast towards him. The empty bellied lion was coming nearer and nearer. The man began to run like the wind with the lion running after him. When the lion became too close the mane noticed this old well. Without thinking the man jumped into it holding a strong rope that dangled inside it.

After a while, he calmed down and the roar of the angry hungry lion faded away. But suddenly he heard the hissing sound of a huge anaconda snake coming from beneath. While he was thinking of a way to get rid of the lion at the top of the well and the huge snake coming from beneath, two big rats, a white and a black one began to climb the rope and started biting off the rope. The man got panicked and strongly began to shake the rope hoping that the rats will fall off the rope. He shook strongly until he began to swing right and left hitting the sides of the well. While he was hitting the wall of the well, he felt something wet and sticky on his face. He tasted it, it was honey that come from wild bees that build their cells in caves, old wells and high trees. The man licked again and again. The honey was so sweet, he forgot all about the lion , the huge snake and the dreadful rats.
Suddenly the man woke up !!!
It was a bad nightmare !!!

The man decided to go to someone who can interpret and explain this dream. So he went to a religious old man and told him about the dream.

The old man laughed and said : Couldn’t you understand this dream ?

The frightened man answered : No.

The old man said : The lion running after you is the Angel of Death. The well with the huge snake is your grave and the rope you were holding tight is your life. The black and white rats are day and night and they are cutting of your life.

The man asked : What about the sweet honey, respected old man ?
The old religious man answered : Its the life with its sweetness that make you forget all about death and Judgment Day.

Oh be rüya imiş,der.

sem-love.1Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.
